observe, it took everything she had just to make the bills every month. An addiction to pills didn’t help her. All that left my mind as I concentrated on the man in front of me.
“Nice dancing,” he said. “Have a seat.”
“Okay, daddy,” I said, sitting next to him on the bench.
    “Don’t call me that, please.”
    “Okay. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t apologize. It’s not your fault. Do a lot of guys ask for that around her?”
I nodded my head, very intrigued by the man. He was well dressed in a suit. His face had clear features that were pleasant to the eyes. Something about his nose – maybe the shape – drew my eyes to it more than once, but it gave him a sense of character, like the actor Owen Wilson. We stared at each other for a full minute, neither of us saying anything.
“I would, however, like to take you to the VIP room for the rest of the night. Will five hundred suffice?”
    “Yeah. Come with me.”
I stood then took his hand in mine. He followed me through the sea of tables and horny men. When we got to the VIP section, Barry, one of the bouncers, moved in front of the door and held out his hand. The mysterious stranger appeared to know the deal. Has he been to a lot of strip clubs? I wondered as he pulled out five hundred dollar bills and placed them on Barry’s outstretched palm.
We walked into a nice sized room with a padded bench against three walls. A stereo system was embedded into the wall next to the door. As I closed the door and turned on some music, he moved to the far wall and sat down. When I twirled around, dancing toward him, I noticed how he held himself. His posture was good, but it was his eyes that captivated me.
“Take off your top,” he commanded as he stared at me.
As I took off my blouse, his gaze lowered to my breasts. I was proud of them and pushed out my chest as my top fell to the floor. Slowly, I moved my body in time with the music.
“Come here. Sit on my lap.”
I would normally say hell no and tie up the client with bondage tape so he would stop touching me, but this man was different. His name was still a mystery to me, which made the moment dirtier in a way. I obeyed and climbed onto his lap.
“Tell me about yourself,” he said.
“You want me to talk dirty?” I asked, confused at his request.
“No, tell me about your life. Are you happy? Did you grow up around here? Why are you a dancer?”
“What are you, some kind of blogger or journalist?” I asked, raising an eyebrow as I studied his face.
He laughed. “No, nothing like that at all. I’m just a wealthy man who enjoys the company of younger women – especially when they look as beautiful as you.”
“Aww, thank you.” I was accustomed to getting hit on every single night, but this was different somehow. For one thing, he actually had me captivated. “I grew up around here, and I like to think I’m as happy as anyone else in the world.”
“Good. Happiness is so rare these days.”
“Well, I do have problems, but like I said, I have a plan…”
“Yes,” he interrupted, “Tell me about your plan.”
His hand gently moved up and down my bare back as he stared into my eyes and not at my breasts.
“I’m saving money to get into community college.”
“Interesting. What do you want to study?”
“Well, that’s why I’m going to community college first. I’m not sure what I want to do the rest of my life.”
    “It’s not dancing?”
    “What? No, silly.” I giggled.
    “But you’re happy here?”
“I’m happy right now,” I said, which was the truth.
Uncomfortable with all the questions, I hopped off his lap. A moment later, I bent forward with my hands on his thighs. My breasts hung down in front of his face. He didn’t move, which was different than a lot of the other guys I danced for in the VIP room. From what I’d learned from the other dancers, this meant he had quite a bit of money. He was a refined gentleman.
I stood up and turned around. After
