his picture taken with you again if you didn’t post it everywhere. It’s okay to keep some things from the entire world wide web."
" But no one is going to believe me."
" Does it really matter? I’m not saying you can’t show your friends, but maybe just keep the pictures for yourself, you know? You don’t have to broadcast everything."
" If I say yes, will you text the pictures to me right now so they’ll be there when I get out to the car? So I can show Kelsey? I won’t put them on the internet."
Sky picked her phone up. "Sending them to you right now," she said.
Robin started to leave but then stopped and went over and gave Sky a hug. "You have the best job ever," she said.
Sky hugged her back. "You know, I think you’re right," she said.

Chapter 15

    "Tell me everything."
These were the first words out of Conner’s mouth when Sky slid into the passenger side seat the next morning. He had pushed his Gucci sunglasses up onto the top of his head and was looking at her intently.
"Good morning to you, too," she said with a smile.
" I’m serious, Sky," he said. "You can imagine that Josh only gave me the bare minimum details. What is going on ? I get back from the city and you’re gone, he says he told you to leave. And then he walks away. Of course I can’t chase him down and beg him for all the juicy details, and then you’re not waiting out here the next day and I try to call and your phone’s off and I call Josh and he says he has no idea what’s going on but not to feel like I have to sit outside of your apartment all day. So would you please , in very specific and minute details, tell me what is happening? I just can’t stand being out of the loop like this." He craned his neck around the other direction and looked out the driver’s side window as he pulled the car back out onto Pine Street.
" I’m sorry you were waiting outside like that," Sky said. "I’m glad you weren’t out there all day. There is actually not a ton to tell..."
Conner raised his eyebrows. "I truly doubt that," he said, clearing his throat.
" I went into the room."
    " You what? What room?"
" You know. The room ."
He slowed the car down at a red light. "Let me get this straight," he said slowly. "You’re telling me that you went into the forbidden room, the room I told you never to go into?"
"Um, yes, yes I am. I’m sorry. I hope I didn’t get you into trouble."
He was quiet for a moment, and Sky studied his face, trying to tell if he was angry.
"I don’t know what to say," he finally said. He grinned. "Actually, I do. What was in there?"
It was Sky’s turn to be quiet now. She didn’t want to betray Josh’s trust by telling Conner what was in there, although, she reasoned, she wouldn’t even know what was in there if she hadn’t betrayed his trust in the first place. But one time was enough. She wasn’t going to do it again.
" Just more art," she said, knowing if she told Conner she couldn’t tell him anything, it would only raise his curiosity exponentially. "I really don’t even know why he’s got to keep it locked up like that, anyway. Except that maybe he wants to have one place that’s totally his own."
" Like a sanctuary," Conner said. "Which you totally violated."
    " Which I totally violated."
" How the hell did you get in there? Did you steal a key? I don’t even know where he keeps the key."
" No. I picked the lock."
He whistled. "Damn, girl, damn. I’m impressed."
" And then he caught me and told me to leave. I guess it was left kind of open-ended, but I just assumed that I wasn’t supposed to go back."
    " Clearly."
" Until he showed up here."
" Josh ? Showed up at your apartment?"
"Yes."
" Ahh. He had asked me where you lived. That makes sense now. It’s kind of a big deal, you know."
" It was definitely an unexpected visit. But, it went well, considering. And now here I am, back on the job."
" He likes you, you know."
Sky shrugged, though she couldn’t help but think
