him into trying a little harder. Are you in the mood now?”
“The Twins are always in the mood for more magic.”
Erika stood up and adjusted the short red sarong over her breasts. Issa watched as her friend strode around the pool, first stopping at the chair where the dark-haired Hallie reclined with eyes closed. Hallie’s eyes opened in response to Erika’s whisper and she smiled, turning to look at Corey while Erika explained whatever scheme she’d concocted to encourage more enthusiasm out of their male friend.
Hand-in-hand, the pair of women padded barefoot to the spot where Corey dozed in one of the short sarongs Kris had conjured for him. The women lay down flanking him and pressing their bodies against his sides.
Erika bent her mouth to his ear, but Issa couldn’t tell whether she spoke to him or merely teased at his neck with her lips. Issa spent a bit of energy to focus her hearing, curious what the women would do to get the reluctant male to come with them. A second later, their words were as clear as if they were speaking to her.
“You’re being a little stingy, you know,” Erika said. “So Hallie and I thought we’d give you a hand.”
Hallie rested one hand lightly on the top of the fabric that spanned his hips just below his bare waist.
Corey removed the arm from over his eyes and turned to look at her, then at Hallie. “Oh, you think so? I did my part yesterday. By my count there are enough of us that we’re only needed once a day. Besides, Issa’s kind of like my sister-in-law. Don’t you think that’s weird?”
“Is it any weirder than Racha doing whatever it is she’s doing with all the other dragons right now? Don’t tell me you believe they’re just in the Glade having a chat. What would Racha do if she were here now, anyway?”
Corey put his arm back over his eyes. “She’d respect my boundaries.”
“Or would she urge you to contribute as much as possible for the betterment of the race?”
Corey didn’t respond. Erika and Hallie exchanged exasperated looks, then Erika mouthed two words to her friend that Issa was sure were, “Plan B.”
Erika’s auburn head leaned across Corey’s torso. Her lips met Hallie’s lips halfway. The pair shared a long, sensuous kiss. Partway through, Hallie reached across and tugged the knot Erika had tied in her sarong. The fabric slipped down, revealing Erika’s lovely, pink-tipped breasts. Hallie unfastened her own garment, then with her free hand cupped one of Erika’s breasts and toyed with her nipple, pinching gently and tugging with thumb and forefinger.
Erika’s throaty laugh echoed around the courtyard, drawing the attention of the others. Some perked up to watch, others just smiled and went back to their relaxation.
Corey’s body had tensed. He hadn’t removed his arm from his eyes, but Issa was sure he was watching the two women from beneath it, particularly considering the rising swell of an erection, unmistakable beneath the thin fabric that concealed it.
When the women pulled back from their kiss, Erika bent and pulled one of Hallie’s nipples between her lips and sucked. Hallie’s breathy sigh caused a visible tremor to ripple up Corey’s stomach from his groin. He lifted his arm from his eyes and drifted the fingers of the hand over Hallie’s smooth, bare shoulder, down over her breast until his fingertips swirled around the nipple that was not already being attended.
“You two are probably the second most infuriating women I know. If I do this, you have got to quit torturing me. So, you do what I tell you and we’ll all leave happy, especially Issa.”
His dark eyes slid to meet Issa’s. She smiled at the tiny salute and nod he gave her from across the pool, though his smirk told her he wasn’t the least bit irritated by the imposition in spite of his complaint. The three left their coverings behind and strolled with hands linked back around the pool to where she reclined on her comfortable cushioned
