good.  They saw the fourth
guard come around the bend with a communicator out and a scowl on his
face.  They should have watched longer.  She knew now they were
communicating, just not every circuit.  She pulled out her stunner,
thinking it a better risk than hoping he didn’t call the alarm before he
arrived at their ambush location.
She felt Bill’s hand stop her.  She raised an eyebrow
as he pulled out one of the guards knives.  She nodded in agreement as she
read his thoughts.  Their element of surprise was too important to risk
for one guards life.  She cringed inside a little at the judgment.
She watched as he held it by the blade and flicked his wrist throwing the knife
an impossible distance into the guards throat.
She ran out and dragged the body back to their hiding
spot.  They each took a guards keycard for the estate and headed for the
back entrance.  She smiled as she read Bill staring at her ass again.
Enjoying the attention she started to sway her hips a little more.
They walked in the back entrance taking down the guard inside, so far so good,
no alarms.
She took the lead as they took out the last two guards in
the house.  Her Dravii ability to read other species was making finding
and ambushing them child’s play.  After that she led them to the councilor
who was in an office, leaving his family alone where they were.  His
family wasn’t a threat, and none of them would want to go out of their way to eliminate
them.
They were trying to minimize loss of life as much as
possible.
    -----------------
When they walked into the office the councilor tried to run,
Larissa easily caught and subdued him.
Anise entered his public mind with ease, crushing his mind shields
and they started to question him.
While she was dealing with him, her sister was stealing all
his computer data.  She thought it was a good idea, as a top advisor to
the emperor he may have secrets in there that a military cruiser would not.
She didn’t get anything new until they started to ask about
the other councilor…
Anise said, “Tell us about the other councilor remaining
with the emperor.”
She didn’t expect a verbal answer, but what went through his
mind was so shocking she lost her temper and screamed in rage.  Anise’s
Demonae claws came out and relieved the enemy of his head.  She was aghast
at her actions a few moments later.  She felt Sylvia and Bill trying to
calm her.  They also wanted to know what was wrong.
She sighed and shook her head.
Anise said haltingly, “The last councilor is Dravii, one of
the betrayers.”
Anise continued, “He…  He stayed with the emperor for
his life, all the other betrayers were killed and the coward still stayed, just
to save his hide.”
Anise’s voice simmered with anger, “The emperor wanted two
benefits he could provide so gave him a choice.  Stay and read others for
his advantage, and also bond with him.  Apparently two thousand years
wasn’t going to be enough life for him.  As he is bonded well, he will
live quite a bit longer than that.  He spared the sniveling coward who is
basically a slave right now.”
Sylvia said, “I have the data we need, all the illegal and
above board slaver rings.”
Putting a hand on Anise’s shoulder she continued softly, “I
understand why you did it.  I would have done the same…”
Anise nodded woodenly, she hated taking life and was shocked
at what she did in anger, but she hated slavery and cruelty more.
“Let’s get out of here,” and Anise signaled the ship.
For some reason it took a couple of minutes for Ariella to respond and bring
them up to the ship…

Ariella was shocked at the news as well.  A traitor
that still lived!  Her mind worked in circles.  A male Dravii though,
one who could help rebuild the species.  Does that matter?  The
thought was distasteful but she could challenge him and take his essence while
she took his life.  The idea of using the
