Kayla wasn’t going to let some creepy psycho ruin her obligations. One crazy person would never force her to be afraid to live her life. She stomped her foot.
    “I’m staying...” she insisted.
However, the thing was, Thrash wasn’t going to take “no” for an answer. He aggressively picked her up by her thick waist. Kayla kicked and screamed, punching Thrash in his hard chest. Thrash hauled her off in his arms, snuck into the back alley and marched towards the limo... But he noticed someone had slashed the tires...
Thrash then turned his head to the right at the sound of a low rumbling growl.
“ Oh my god! ” Kayla screamed, scrambling up closer to Thrash’s chest. “It’s a wolf!”
Thrash parked Kayla down on the ground and got on all fours. Dark earthy brown fur ripped down his body, and Thrash’s square jaw elongated into a snout. Kayla blinked hard, trying to make sure her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her.
“Thrash is a... bear !” she whispered under her breath.
Thrash growled, posting his body in between the snarling wolf and a frightened Kayla.
When the wolf lunged for Thrash’s shaggy throat, Thrash socked it in its jaw.
A shrill yelp cracked in the air when the wolf got thrown to the ground. Abruptly, the feral wolf launched up and sprinted out of the alley and disappeared in the crowd.
A very startled Kayla rose to her feet and only had one question plaguing her mind...
“Who and what the hell are you?!” she spat.

Chapter Four
K ayla shifted underneath her seatbelt when Thrash forced her in the limo.
“You need to let me go! This is freaking crazy !” Kayla hollered trying to break free. Her eyes turned up and she got a full view of Thrash’s perfectly naked form.
For a second, she stopped struggling. Letting her eyes scan the luscious contours of his chiseled abs.
Jesus, Christ! I’d love to slip my hands over his body—so fit and so tight.
Then, suddenly, Kayla gasped when she unconsciously looked directly at his crotch.
    Wowza!
Quickly, Thrash grabbed a tight heather gray t-shirt from the glove compartment and threw it over his shoulders. He then pulled out a pair of denim jeans and drew them up to his narrow waist.
“Concentrate, Kayla,” Thrash growled buckling his belt. “Is there some place we can lay low for a few hours?”
Kayla shook her head, still swimming with confusion. “Can’t you just take me back to my condo?”
Thrash edged into the driver’s seat. “No, there’s an off chance that your stalker might be tailing us.”
Kayla thought hard. It occurred to her there was a place she had forgotten.
    “Well, there’s one place....”
She then recited an address and Thrash plugged it into the GPS.
The entire ride was silent. Even though, Kayla had a hard time admitting it... she was thankful that Thrash was there to save her life. But at the same time, she was frightened because she didn’t understand how he had a wild bear hiding deep inside him.
“Don’t make me ask...” Kayla spouted, still shivering with adrenaline.
Thrash cocked his head to the side. “Ask what?”
“Ask about the whole bear-thing,” she demanded.
“There not a lot to say—I’m an alpha werebear who can shift in human form. Satisfied ?” Thrash growled, he didn’t bother to look Kayla in the eye. Her werebear body guard was hiding something and Kayla damn well knew it.
Thrash finally pulled up to the home listed on the address. Kayla grew ever more impatient. I’m not paying this asshole hundreds of thousands of dollars so he can cop an attitude with me! Kayla got so pissed off, she started shaking.
“You work for me , Thrash! I’m the only one that gets to make demands!”
Thrash had gotten sick and tired of hearing her whining. He unlocked the door and marched inside.
“ Hellooo! I’m talking to you...” Kayla sassed refusing to let the argument just die already.
He just wanted to SHUT HER UP. Thrash finally rocked back, refusing to stay
