Anthony’s home regardless the hour of
two in the morning.
Sky’s lips were still tingling when she was dialing his phone number, resting her head against the refrigerator. She was about to
hang up when a man’s voice, who she didn’t recognize, answered the phone. She
told the man that it was an emergency that she needed to speak to Anthony, only
to be told that he wasn’t available. She told the man her name, and then hung
up on him while he was apologizing for not knowing it was his queen. She turned
around and leaned her back on the cool refrigerator. The deep breath she took
burned as it filled her lungs, as her mind fought to seek changing. Looking
around the kitchen, the only thing she could think of to remove the sexual frustration
feelings from her mind, was food. She turned around
and opened the fridge door, seeing the tasty snacks that she would have chosen
any other night, but now just looked downright nasty to her. So, Sky bypassed her
normal snacks altogether.
She smelled the sweetest aroma that had her mouthwatering before she even knew what it was. She started pushing things around, knocking
over pop bottles, butter bowls, and any item that was in her way as she
desperately tried to find the delectable fragrance. When she pulled the bottom
crisper open, she found the two T-bone steaks that she was going to broil for
Anthony and herself the night they ended up ordering pizza. She swayed back in
shock when she realized it was the raw meat she smelled. She stepped back up,
putting her hand on her hip while looking down, then bent down and grabbed both
packages of meat.
She put them on the counter next to the stove and turned the knob to
broil, then tore the plastic wrap off the steaks. She was about to reach up to
open the cabinet to get a plate, when the scent of blood drifted more strongly
under her nose. She lowered her hand as she lowered her head and looked at the
raw meat in front of her. For whatever reason, Sky glanced behind herself then
slowly turned back to the mouthwatering temptation. She
picked up one of the steaks. She closed her eyes with the human side of her
showing revulsion, but biting down with the animal instinct inside of her as
she put it to her mouth. She reached over, turning the stove back off and took
the other steak and sat down at the table.
She was holding the second half-eaten steak in her hands, when her
front door flew open, crashing into the bookshelf behind it. Sky jumped up
grabbing the back of the chair, throwing it toward the kitchen door, which led
into the living room. She spun around and grabbed a knife from the butcher
block, when Anthony came sliding into the living room hollering out her name. Sky
cleared her throat and watched as he turned in slow motion to look at her.
“What’s the matter, Sky? Why is your phone busy?”
“I...” she started then looked down at the knife, then quickly set
it down on the counter. “I didn’t even know my phone was busy. I just wanted to
talk.”
“So you told my butler that you were having an emergency?” he
questioned as he sternly walked toward her.
“Why are you so upset?” she said, holding her hands out while she
stepped to the right, keeping her body pressed to the kitchen counter.
“Do I really have to explain that?” he replied, staring at her. “What
was so important?”
“What was I supposed to say? I want him to come screw my brains out
before my body burns up, would that be more appropriate?” she spoke before thinking.
Anthony started to say something then froze with his mouth partially
open.
Sky looked up at him then shook her head and tried to leave the room
only to have him grab her by the arm. When she wouldn’t look up he put his
other hand under her chin and lifted it, then ran his fingers back through her
hair. She closed her eyes, leaning her head into the palm of his hand as it
passed by her cheek. Sky reached up taking a hold of Anthony’s arm and walking
closer until her
