found each other anyway and that my feelings for Yeager were more than destiny.

Edie was more than happy to cover the diner for another day so I could deal with things. It wasn’t as if it was all that hard considering how few customers we had after the events of the previous days. After we ate and visited with Edie, Yeager and I left the diner. He dropped me off at my house and he went to his motel room so we could both change clothes and shower. He picked me up an hour later and we rode his bike up into the mountains taking a route different than the one we had during our escape. There were no lakes where we went but there was a broad, green meadow and hardly anyone ever went there. Tourists ignored it in favor of Yosemite but it was just as beautiful as any place in the National Park.

The sun was low in the western sky but it hadn’t set yet. Yeager and I hiked towards the meadow, taking our time as we waited for dark. “You’re OK with everything?” Yeager asked as we walked.

    “Yeah, I suppose,” I replied.

“You’re not going to freak out on me or something. I’m here to talk to if anything is bugging you,” he told me. I took his hand and squeezed it.

“I appreciate that. I’ve been through a lot already in my life. I admit, this is pretty big but I’m dealing with it. Honestly, knowing you’re my mate isn’t scary. It’s comforting. I like the idea of having someone in my life I can count on. Since mom died, Edie’s been there but it’s not the same, you know,” I explained. Yeager nodded like he understood but then he stopped and turned to face me.

“I’m glad you’re OK with it because I’m losing my fucking mind,” he said with a hint of amusement in his amber eyes.

    “Why?” I asked curiously.

“My mate is a wolf. Nobody I’ve ever talked to has heard of a female shifter. I thought finding you seven years ago was the best thing that ever happened to me until I met you. Then when I met you for the first time, I was sure that was as good as it could get. But seeing you as a wolf, wow! You’re one sexy ball of fur, Cassie,” Yeager told me. I giggled at that.

“I did feel like I was rather fluffy,” I replied. Yeager waggled his eyebrows and growled, but like a human this time.

“Curvy and fluffy and that white streak is so sexy. I’m one lucky shifter,” he said as he slipped his hand around my waist and squeezed my ample behind. I wasn’t sure if he was talking about me as a woman or a wolf but I suspected both.

“You’re kind of cute yourself,” I said running my hand over the black t-shirt that covered his broad chest. “We going to do it now and then go for a run or do it after?” I asked suggestively. Suddenly, I ached for Yeager. I yearned to see him snarl and salivate as he had his way with me. Maybe I’d act a little wild myself too. Maybe, I’d have my way with him.

“Both,” was all he said. That sounded like a good plan. I peeled my tank top up and over my big breasts and then pulled it off. I hadn’t worn a bra and my abundant breasts pressed against Yeager’s t-shirt. He began working at my yoga pants as he bent and kissed me. I furiously worked at his belt and jeans as our tongues mingled. We kissed until we were forced to part to finish the process of getting naked. We folded our clothes and placed them along with our shoes on a boulder and walked hand in hand towards the meadow.

We didn’t make it, however. We found a broad granite boulder with a nice flat top. I pulled Yeager towards it and had him sit on the edge as I knelt in the soft pine needles that covered the ground. “Does this thing get all...wolfy every time?” I asked as I stroked Yeager’s quickly hardening shaft.

“It can do whatever I want it too,” he said suggestively.

“That’s kind of naughty,” I remarked. Yeager chuckled.

“You have no idea but I assure you that my little display by the lake the
