orgasm, he quickly
washed his hands before going back to her. He released each restraint, and
picking her up in his arms, he carried her over to the bed.
Pushing hair off her face, he saw her smiling up at
him.
“That was wonderful.”
“There’s plenty more where that came from.” He dropped
a kiss to her lips, lying beside her. Locking their fingers together, Bryan
felt calm, happy, complete . He’d never had that before
with anyone else.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?” she asked,
pressing her fingers to his temples.
“All this time the woman I’ve been searching for has
been living next door to me.”
“I’m the woman you’ve been searching for?”
“Yes, you are.” He pressed another kiss to her lips.
“How’s your ass?”
“Burning but I’ll live.”
“You deserved that punishment as well.”
She chuckled. “We’ll agree to disagree.”
He sucked her nipple into his mouth, satisfied when
she moaned, arching up against him.
“Fine, fine, fine, you were right.”
Bryan stopped, laughing along with her.
“This has got to be the most surreal experience of my
life.”
He couldn’t agree more. Bryan hadn’t realized it at
the time, but he did now. The moment he’d moved in and seen Charlotte for the
first time, was the moment he’d first started falling for her. He’d find
himself watching her get her mail, mow the lawn, tend her garden. All the time he put it down to simply being curious, but it wasn’t
that. His feelings had developed into something more.
With her in his arms, Bryan knew there was nowhere
else he wanted to be.
Chapter Nine
One week later
“Open your eyes, beautiful,” Bryan said.
The scent of coffee lured Charlotte out of her sleep.
Opening her eyes, she stared across the bed to find Bryan already dressed. They
were in his home like they had been for the past week. She only went home to do
her work, but that hadn’t much happened because Bryan would follow her home. He
distracted her too much. She’d already called Lillian for an extension on the
website design.
She couldn’t help it. Bryan was one hell of a
distraction. He had the tools and the imagination that kept her away from her
work.
“Why do I have to open my eyes?” she asked.
“Barbeque day. You reminded me last night to wake you up so you could go and make some
of your brownies. Susan left a message asking if you’d make them.”
Groaning, she started to sit up. She gathered the
sheet with her to cover herself. Bryan wouldn’t let her. He pulled the seat out
of her grasp, handing her a cup of steaming coffee instead.
“Your bed is so much better than mine.”
“I know.” He sat down beside her. She watched as he
opened and closed his mouth as if he wanted to say something.
“What’s the matter?” She blew across the surface of
her coffee ever so gently so none of it would spill over the sides.
“Please, let me know if I’m going too fast. I’m way
out of my element right now.”
“You’re scaring me, Bryan.”
“I’ll just get out with it then.”
She raised her brow, still waiting.
“What is it?”
“Will you consider moving in with me?” He spoke
quickly.
Staying silent, she took a sip of the hot coffee sure
that she hadn’t heard him right. “You want me to move in with you?”
“Yes, I want you to move in with me. You’ve spent a
great deal of time here already.”
“I’ve got my own home.” Were the rules changing? Did
she want to move in with him? It was such a huge step, one she hadn’t
anticipated making.
“I know. I want you to consider moving in with me. I
care about you, and I do see this going somewhere.”
She nodded. “Okay, I’ll consider it.”
Their week together had been amazing. She’d gone to
the doctors and was now on the pill. In a month they’d be able to have sex
without the use of condoms. They’d explored each other, deeply. Bryan seemed to
have a fascination with her ass. He was constantly caressing
