butt.”
Groaning, “Can we not talk about my sisters
body parts?”
“Gabe, I think you should stay in my room
tonight, that way we’ll all be together on Christmas morning.”
I try and not laugh, because this is so not
going to happen, “Err, babe, I don’t think your parents will see it quite the
same way with you.”
Turning to look at me, “You’re staying with
me, in my room, in my bed and there’s no argument about it.”
Squeezing her tight in my arms, “Whatever
you want.” Kissing Bree on the head, I grin to myself knowing damn well we’re
going to have an argument on our hands when we get back to the house.
“Travis can you drop us at Gabe’s cabin
first? He can grab whatever he needs and we’ll follow you back to the house in
his truck.”
“Yeah that’s fine.”
Chapter

BREE
“Don’t be long you two. I don’t want to
miss the show when Mom and Dad find out you’re sharing a room!”
I start laughing as Gabe throws a snow ball
at Travis, just missing him by inches. Quickly entering the cabin, I start to
back up when I see the look on Gabe’s face. “Oh no you don’t; hurry and pack,
so we can get to Mom and Dad’s.”
Turning his back to me, he heads towards
his bedroom, “You do realize they aren’t going to let us share a room?”
“Yes, they will.”
Narrowing his eyes as he looks back at me
and finds me grinning like an idiot, “You want to let me in on your little
secret here?”
I smile even wider, if that’s possible, “Do
not tell anyone okay?”
Seeing Gabe make the motion of sealing his
mouth closed I continue, “When Mom was around my age; Dad climbed into her
bedroom one Christmas eve and spent the night. The next morning he climbed
back out and they pretended he’d only just arrived. Neither of them would want
my grandparents to know, even now.”
With his eyes opening so wide they nearly
touch his eyebrows, “You’re going to blackmail your parents?”
“Damn straight. After all, I’m telling
them that you’re sleeping with me tonight, not sneaking you in.” I follow Gabe
and watch him from the doorway leading into his bedroom.
Grabbing a bag he puts some clothes in to
it and his shaving kit, then grabbing the couple of bags of present’s, heads
back to the front door with me following “You’re going to get me in trouble
with your folks.”
I take hold of one of Gabe’s bags, “Stop
being a wuss and move that sexy butt into the truck.”
“Sexy butt?” I roll my eyes and should
have known better saying something like that to Gabe. Walking to his truck we
throw his bags into the back. “You got everything?”
“Yep, clothes, shaving stuff and presents….
Oh wait, hang on.” Gabe runs back into the cabin and returns a few minutes
later with a couple of bottles of wine he obviously bought for Christmas dinner
and the brandy for my Dad.
“Okay, I have everything now.” He says,
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
I smile at him, “Yes, I’m fine Gabe.
Please don’t worry. Let’s just get going.”
“Okay babe.” Climbing into his truck he
suddenly stops and just looks at me.
Starting the engine Gabe leans over to me
and places a kiss to my lips, “I love you with all my heart.”
My smile gets even wider, “I love you too
Gabe. Not that I’m complaining, but what brought that on?”
“I just took one look at you and felt I’d
been hit with cupid’s arrow.”
I put my hand in front of my mouth trying
to stifle a laugh. Looking back at Gabe he looks upset at my reaction,
“Cupid’s arrow, huh?”
Gabe just grins back at me, “Yeah. You’re
mine to keep now.”
“Don’t worry, I’ve waited a long time for
you Gabe, I’m not going anywhere; ever.”
He takes hold of my hand as he starts
driving to my parent’s house, “Good! I wouldn’t let you go anyway.”
Feeling more content than ever, I just sit
back and relax as Gabe navigates the lane up to the
