argue.â
âThat would leave me with nothing,â Greg replied. âAnd I am not walking away empty-handed.â
âIâll warn you now, this wonât be a cakewalk. Itâs going to get dirty.â
âJust tell me what I need to do and Iâll do it.â
Leonard sighed and after a long streak of silence, he finally spoke. âListen, swing by the restaurant later so that we can talk this one through some more.â Greg felt his armpits beginning to perspire. Vivian had him handcuffed by the dick, but he wasnât going to let her simply take his company away from him. âDo you think you can pull me from under this?â
Leonard exhaled sharply. âI canât promise you anything, but I might have a couple of ideas that can better prepare us for the court battle.â
Greg felt his breathing return to normal. Leonardâs ideas normally led to brilliant outcomes so this should be well worth his time.He jetted out of the parking lot and turned on to the service road leading to the toll way. âWhat time do you want to meet?â
âMeet me in about an hour.â
âAll right. I need to make a pit stop home and then Iâll head that way,â Greg said.
âCool. Bet.â
Greg hung up with Leonard and saw that the missed call alert heâd received ten minutes ago had been from Vivian. Her ears must have been on fire. He considered calling her back but instead settled for a text message. He knew sheâd detect the frustration in his voice. She replied right back that she was going over to a girlfriendâs house and that his dinner was in the fridge. Greg sent her another short text. He switched lanes and seconds later, his phone beeped again. He read her last reply and instantly his heart began to beat for her again. She had told him she loved him. He sighed deeply and waited until he came to another stoplight before sending the next one. How could he do this to her? He felt foolish and ashamed for carrying on as if everything between them was perfectly fine. As if he wasnât conspiring to divorce her and start a family with someone else. Had he behaved otherwise, she would have become suspicious. And the last thing he wanted to do was draw attention to what he was doing. He needed to be ten steps ahead of her on this.
When he came to a red light, he texted back âI love you .â No sooner than he hit SEND did trickles of rain plummet. Greg knew exactly why. Denise, the woman who had stolen his heart and changed his life forever, was crying.

P eaches and strawberries is what Naomi found herself submerged in at the Relache Spa. She was treating herself to a splendid evening that included a few hours of shopping and relaxation, just as Greg had wanted her to do. It was his way of showering her and making her feel like the beautiful deserving woman he believed she was. Greg liked to take care of his woman inside and out, like he did his luxurious vehicles. And there wasnât one thing he wouldnât do or a dollar he wouldnât spend to ensure her happiness.
It was a unique and humbling experience because with all his money at her disposal, Naomi hardly knew what to do with it. There was one time heâd asked her to name her favorite store. Sheâd said Target. He laughed, assuming she was joking, but she wasnât. Dating a wealthy and handsome businessman was like living in a foreign country and not being able to speak their language. But Naomi was optimistic that if she stayed around long enough, sheâd eventually learn the lingo of the affluent lifestyle, maybe even speak it as fluent as the others. Until then, she really didnât fit in. She stuck out like a sore thumb and was sure others noticed it too. On one of her shopping sprees, the cashier had jokingly asked if sheâd won the lottery. In a way, she had hit the jackpot.
After her lunch date with Greg, sheâd ended up at some
