dare.”
“Good,” she said. “Let him worry.”
“I don’t mean to sound rude, but I don’t think he’s worried about you…just your money.”
Tina smirked. “You’re right, as always.” She looked around the kitchen as what he’d just said sunk in. “You have a lovely home.”
“I purchased it a couple of weeks after I arrived in New York and had it remodeled to suit my needs.”
“It has a homey feel to it, kind of like the impression I got when I saw the sketch of the house in your tablet.”
“You should feel comfortable in your home,” Kevin said.
Tina sighed. She hadn’t felt comfortable in her home in a long time and now she didn’t ever want to return to it since Erik had violated it.
They continued to eat, discussing everything except her situation. They were still talking after they left the kitchen and moved to the living room. Tina walked out onto the balcony to watch the sun come up. The rays from the sun toasted her skin and helped dry her hair.
“This is one reason why I chose this place,” Kevin said, coming out behind her. “The view is breathtaking.”
“It sure is,” Tina said, turning around to face him and noticing he wasn’t watching the sunrise. The look in his eyes told her that she had been very wrong in her assumption that he was interested in Alexis. “I think I better go inside before the neighbors see me.” She walked past him, but Kevin grabbed her hand.
“I don’t care what my neighbors think.”
“So do you often have half-naked women coming and going from of your apartment?”
“No,” he told her, still holding her hand. “You are the first.”
She didn’t know if she believed him or not, but she did enjoy the attention.
Kevin took her back inside the apartment. “Are you sleepy?”
“Not really,” Tina replied. “I napped at the office before I came here.”
“But you must still be exhausted from the flight.”
“I’m just a little stiff around the neck and the lower back,” she replied. “But it will go away eventually.”
Kevin stepped behind her, placed his hands on her shoulders, and started massaging out the kinks.
“That feels good,” Tina replied. “You really do have magic fingers.”
Kevin ran his finger across the back of her neck.
Tina trembled. Then she felt his lips against the spot. Tina shuddered. It had been a long time since a man had paid this much attention to her. She felt bad because Kevin wasn’t just some man. He was her friend.
“Do you want me to massage away the rest of the stress?” he asked.
“Don’t tell me you have a masseuse table in this apartment?”
“No, but I do have two very comfortable beds upstairs. Either will suffice.”
“I don’t know,” Tina said, giving the idea serious thought. “You’ve been so kind already and I don’t want to impose.”
He moved in closer, pressing his body into her back. “It won’t be an imposition,” he said. “In fact, it would be an honor.” He took her hand and led her toward the stairs. “I will make you feel loose as a goose.”

He chose the other bedroom as the backdrop for the massage. Kevin put on some relaxing music and led her over to the big bed. He removed the comforter and turned back the top sheet. “Assume the position,” he told her. “I will be back.”
Tina nodded, unsure of what to do next and knowing that at least the choice she made would be hers. She slipped out of the t-shirt and stood there looking at the bed. She heard a sound behind her. Tina turned around. Kevin stood in the door holding a tray of oils. He turned away shyly.
“Don’t tell me you’ve never seen a naked woman before?”
“Not in a very long time,” he said, entering the room and placing the tray on the dresser beside the bed.
Tina chuckled at his nervousness. She’d always figured him to be a ladies’ man with those looks and that killer body. She sat down on the bed. “Do you want me on my back or on my
