cleared her long hair from her face. The sight of her satisfied face was like a breath of fresh air for him. She made him feel good just from the way she stared back at him, and he silently wished that she didn’t belong to another man. “You okay?” he asked as he stared into her eyes. He was looking for a look of remorse, but found none.
She laughed. “I’m okay. I don’t know what I’m doing.” She blushed as she covered her face with her hands. She was embarrassed and couldn’t believe that she was here with him.
Kalil laughed, and when he smiled London admired his perfectly chiseled features. He laid his head on her stomach as she caressed the top of his head.
This is so perfect, she thought to herself.
She sat up on both of her elbows and looked down at Kalil. “Can we just stay here like this for the next seven days?” she asked him. “I just want to be near you. He’s gone for the next week, and I want to spend every moment of that time with you.”
â€œI can make that happen.” Kalil wanted to say no. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to spend time with her, but he was going to have to spend a whole week’s pay on the hotel room. He started to suggest something different, but when he looked up at her, he changed his mind. She was special to him and she was already unhappy in one relationship. He always wanted her to be pleased when she was with him, and he figured when her husband returned, their time would be limited.
He got up and slipped on his jeans.
â€œWhere are you going?” she asked, a worried expression on her face.
He walked over to the edge of the bed and kissed her lightly on the lips. “To pay for six more nights.”
The smile that spread across her face was worth way more than the cost of the room.

The next day Kalil woke up to find London still asleep. He reached over and pulled her close to him. He didn’t want to wake her from her sleep, but he had to get to work. “Good morning, beautiful,” he whispered in her ear.
â€œMmm,” she moaned drowsily. “Good morning. What time is it?” she asked, yawning.
    â€œSix o’clock.”
â€œI don’t want to get up,” she groaned.
They had been up all night, learning every single way to satisfy each other sexually, and her body ached in a good way. She didn’t want to wake up to face reality.
â€œI know, ma. Tell me about it. I would like nothing more than to lay up with you all day, but I got to get Quinn’s car back to him and get to work. I need to scoop Jada too. I take her to school most days.”
London smiled as she rested her head on her hand. “You’re such a good father, Kalil. I wish I had a father like you . . .” Her voice trailed off as she began to think of how her family abandoned her.
Kalil didn’t know how to respond to her statement. He could see a sadness in her eyes, and he didn’t know exactly how to take her pain away. After learning about her past, he understood why she allowed her husband to treat her the way he did. London was a beautiful person, but she had never been loved by anyone in her life. He pulled her close and held her for another half an hour before they finally got up to get dressed.
They rode back to Quinn’s apartment, hands interlocked, as Kalil maneuvered through the city streets. They were both silent, but Kalil couldn’t help but glance at her as she looked out of the passenger window.
He swung by Destiny’s, and as soon as he pulled up to the curb, Jada came sprinting out of the house, her long, curly hair bouncing with each step that she took.
She paused in the middle of the yard when she saw her dance teacher sitting in the passenger side of her Uncle Quinn’s car.
â€œCome on, baby girl,” Kalil stated as he got out and picked her up.
â€œDaddy, is Ms. London your girlfriend?” she
