The Road to Price
anything could happen between the two of us but I am
starting to wonder if today is a game changer. Sebastian’s mood seems
different. I can’t put my finger on what exactly it is but his mood is
definitely different.
    He has been on his
best behavior since that night in my room. I’ve overheard a couple of the girls
complaining about Sebastian rejecting their advances. I asked Rachel about it
and she said he hasn’t slept with anyone since I walked in on him and her in
Sebastian’s office. I guess some of the girls are pretty upset but they haven’t
said anything to me yet.
    I was lost in my
thoughts when I heard Sebastian clear his throat. I turned my head towards him
and he spoke, “So would you be terribly upset if I canceled the Sea-doo trip
today?”
    I was confused.
Why would he cancel it if we were on our way there right now? “Aren’t we headed
there now? Why would you cancel it?”
    “We are headed
there Mia, but I have another idea and I really would like to do this instead.
We can do the Sea-doo trip another day, I promise.”
    How could I say
no. He looked so adorable asking me if it was okay and I really wanted him to
enjoy himself today. “Sure that would be fine. Where are we going?” I wanted to
prepare myself incase it was something crazy, like skydiving.
    “It’s a surprise.”
He looked over at me and as if he could read my thought, “It’s nothing scary.
It will actually be relaxing. We can stop in the next town and pick up
something to bring with us for lunch.”
    So we were
bringing food to eat with us at our new destination? Interesting. I replied
quickly with an “okay” and relaxed back into my seat to enjoy the ride, still
holding Sebastian’s hand.

Chapter Nine

    After we stopped
in a small town outside Miami for some sub sandwiches, we were back on the
road. Sebastian was no longer holding my hand; his free hand was playing the
drums on the steering wheel. He was humming along to the music and I was
content watching him.
    We pulled off the
main highway a little while later and headed into a town called Hollywood
Beach. It was a tourist attraction but it was a lot less crowded than Miami. We
followed along the beach until Sebastian pulled up to a stretch of beach a
little less crowded.
    It was beautiful.
    I’ve never told
Sebastian how I feel about the ocean. Him bringing me here just seems right and
makes me think he knows me better than I do sometimes. I might be over thinking
it, but I wanted to believe that he knew me.
    Sebastian put the car
in park, turned off the ignition and jumped out of his jeep. I started to
unbuckle my seatbelt in order to get out as well.  Before I could open the
door Sebastian was standing next to me, door open, holding his hand out for me
to grab and climb out. He was such a gentleman. I gladly obliged and climbed
out of the jeep.
    “So the beach is
your surprise? You know we could have gone to the beach in Miami.” While I was
glad that I got to spend so much time with him, I couldn’t help but think what
a waste of gas it was to drive this way for a beach.
    “You don’t say? I
wasn’t aware Miami had a beach.” He looked at me wide eyed to see if I would
say something snarky back. I kept my mouth shut; he could win this one.
    Sebastian grabbed
a duffle bag from the backseat of his jeep along with the paper bag that held
our subs. He shut the passenger door and looked my way.
    “Mia, if your done
being sarcastic then I will tell you why I brought you here. I wanted to have a
picnic with you on the beach. The beaches in Miami are crazy and I wanted us to
have some privacy. Then I remembered this stretch of beach and decided I would
take you here. It is stunning here and you can actually enjoy the sound of the
ocean instead of the sound of the thousands of people around you.” He smirked
at me while lifting his eyebrows, “Was that a good enough answer?”
    I was speechless.
He thought this day out. He wanted to spend time with me on
