down.’
She downed half her martini and filled two plates with bread and lasagne. Logan’s stomach rumbled at the smell of the rich tomato sauce and cheese. Figuring he could throw Gloria out after they ate, he sat down across from her and picked up his silverware.
‘There, see, isn’t this nice?’ Gloria asked. ‘I really can’t stand the thought of you alone here every night.’
‘Believe me, I’m fine.’ Logan was in no mood to engage in idle chatter, least of all with Gloria Harper.
She nibbled a piece of lasagne and looked at him. ‘Callie said you were too controlled.’
    ‘What?’
‘That’s what she said when she came to see me after she left. Something about the fact that she didn’t feel like she knew you at all. She also mentioned that your sex life wasn’t exactly satisfying.’
‘Jesus.’ Logan shoved his plate away and reached for his scotch. ‘What are you, her psychotherapist?’
‘I’m her sister,’ Gloria said earnestly. ‘She trusts me with these things. And really, Logan, I’m sure she tried to talk to you about them as well.’
‘I don’t even know what that means,’ Logan snapped. ‘She doesn’t know me? Is that some sort of code or something? And I’m too controlled because I happen to believe in dignity?’ He downed his scotch and wiped his mouth, glowering at Gloria. ‘And there is nothing wrong with our sex life.’
Gloria blinked. ‘I wasn’t the one who said that, sugar. But then, I also wasn’t the one who had a sex life with you.’
‘Thank heavens for that,’ Logan muttered. He ripped apart a piece of bread. What nerve Callie had, discussing the intimate details of their relationship with Gloria, of all people.
‘Now, Logan, there’s no need to be rude to me simply because you couldn’t satisfy your wife.’ Gloria stood up and took her plate to the sink, her hips swaying.
Logan sighed, well aware that she was trying to needle him. ‘Thanks for the lasagne, Gloria. Now goodnight.’
‘Or maybe it was the other way around.’ Gloria reached over to take his plate, letting her full breasts press against his shoulder. ‘Maybe Callie couldn’t satisfy you.’
‘I am not about to discuss this with you.’
‘Pity. A little discussion might change things.’
Logan glared at her. ‘There are no “things” that need to be changed.’
Gloria laughed and swallowed the last of her martini. She hitched herself up on to the table next to him and crossed her legs.
‘Darling, if that were the case, then Callie wouldn’t have left you,’ she said. ‘Women want men who really know how to take them. Like James Bond, for instance. You never saw him being wishy-washy about going after a woman, did you? Of course not. That’s because he knew how to make them really feel like women.’ She pursed her lips and began swinging one leg thoughtfully. ‘That’s what you have to do, sugar. Make a woman feel like a woman.’
‘Gloria, if you’re trying to seduce me again, it’s not working.’ Even as Logan said the words, his prick hardened in his jeans. It wasn’t an odd result, given that his eyes were on a level with Gloria’s cleavage. The woman’s chest could rival that of any porn star.
She laughed again. ‘I’m not trying to seduce you, Logan. I’m trying to make you seduce me.’
‘That’s not working either.’ He glared at her, but refused to move away. He’d be damned if this woman would get the better of him.
Gloria heaved a sigh. ‘Oh, sugar, don’t make me think that Callie was right about you. I didn’t believe her, you know. In fact, I told her that you could probably make me come just by looking at me the right way.’ She smiled. ‘Who do you want to prove right? Me or her?’
‘Neither one of you.’ Logan pushed his chair away from the table, which proved to be his first mistake.
Gloria quickly slipped her high-heeled shoe off and placed her foot on Logan’s thigh. He groaned inwardly. Sure, he had wondered
