house.”
He cringed. “Please keep your voice down, and I'm well aware of all the things she's done. This is still wrong.”
    “Why?”
“Why? Besides the fact that I pledged to be committed to her?”
Clearly, only one of you pledged that.
I roll my eyes. “Yes, besides your pledge, what else is it?”
    “You're young.”
“I'm twenty. You're only ten years older.”
    “Fifteen years older.”
“You look five years older.” I sit up and pull off my gown. The satin slides across my skin. My pink nipples pebble as a cool breeze flows in from my open bedroom window and gently pushes the sheer white curtains up. I don't have huge breasts, but mine are a handful to any lucky man. Tonight, I need him to put them in his hands and play until I can't take anymore. “I don't think this is wrong.”
He opens his eyes and widens them when he realizes my gown is off. “I'm married.”
    “And I don't care.”
    “You should.”
    “Why?”
He drinks my bare breasts in and shifts his gaze to my tiny panties. “You deserve better.”
“You are better.” I drop my gown to the side and lay on his chest, pressing my erect nipples against his hard layers of muscle and slowly rub myself against him. My body is hungry, so greedy for that stiff cock between his toned thighs. The first time he kissed me weeks ago, he shattered my soul. Cracked my entire being into little bits of the girl I used to be. When it comes to us finally having sex one day, I'll be his to reform, his to fuck so hard until I scream for more.
“No more kissing and we can't do anything else.” He seizes my arms. His pale fingers are feathery whips, and when his skin meets my flesh, I explode. Just from one soft touch, just from finally ignoring my conscience and falling down into that hot pool of desire that's been filling up inside of me, from the very first day he hired me on as his babysitter. Arousal soaks my panties. Heat envelops my throbbing clit.
“I'm not going to take no for an answer.”
With a sad gaze, he lifts me off him and places me on my back. Right when I think he's going to climb on top of me, he gets off of the bed. “You'll have to take no, Paige.”
    Anger surges through me.
Why did that evil woman have to return? Hasn't she hurt him and their kids enough? And why the hell does he have to try again with her, when his body and mind yearns for something else?
I look up at him. “Or what?”
He walks to the door and pauses. “What do you mean?”
“You said I'll have to take no for an answer.” I cross my arms over my naked breasts and shudder from the feel of those stiff nipples pressing against my arm. “I'm asking you what you'll do if I don't take no for an answer.”
“Let's not go there. Let's just try to bring things back to normal for the sake of Alyssa and Sammy. You're the only reason why they've been able to deal with our family's craziness. You've kept their minds off of it all.”
“But if we did go there, with me making it difficult for you to stay away, what are you going to do?”
He averts his gaze. “I would have to fire you.”
I rose from my bed and took my time heading his way. “Then take this as my resignation.” I tried to kiss him. Towering over me, he captures my shoulders before I could even rise onto the tip of my toes.
“I don't accept either, not your resignation or that sweet kiss that was coming my way. I'm so sorry.”
    “But Blake—”
“No, Paige. Not anymore. Trust me. This will be better for both of us, because you damn sure deserve something more than being involved in my mess.” He backs away from me and leaves.
No, Paige? Not anymore? My heart crumbles right there as if he'd slapped me in my face. I can't accept that.
I shook my head. “No, Blake. You're wrong. I'm not denying either one of us, anymore.”

Chapter 2

“He wouldn't think of it. Everything is in my name from his restaurants that he loves so much to the car he drives. No. No.” Janet pauses on
