like a fish’s and that her words were slurring. “W-when? How? When?”
He sighed and stroked a long finger down her cheek. “For
about a year now. I knew as soon as I met you that I wanted to get to know you
better. Being around you for as long as I have, without being able to touch you
or show you… Damn, that was some brand of torture.”
    “I never knew…”
“Mm-hmm. You mean you never let yourself see. It was pretty
obvious, to everyone but you, of course.”
“Ethan, I feel like…like this is happening to someone else.
I’ve wanted to be with you for so long, you see…a part of me still doesn’t
believe it. It’s a lot to take in.” That was the understatement of the century.
Sara felt giddy with the rush of his admission, buoyant and effervescent like a
soap bubble that was ready to burst, but her natural reticence refused to
relinquish its final hold on her. She still felt a twinge of fear and doubt,
unable to fully accept and trust his feelings toward her. “So, what happens
now?”
Ethan looked down at her and arched a single brow. “Now? We
live happily ever after, of course.”
Sara bit her lip. “I don’t know if I believe in happily ever
after yet,” she replied softly, ducking her head into his shoulder and resting
there a moment. “It’s a lot to take in, Ethan,” she continued tremulously.
“What if it turns out that I’m not enough for you?”
“Trust me. You’re more than I’ve ever hoped for.” His eyes
were hot on her face, caressing her features and baring his soul to her.
She idly twirled her finger into the silky mat of hair on
his chest, but didn’t say anything.
    “I’ll prove it to you.”
Her eyebrows shot up at that. “What do you mean?”
“You’ve been burned pretty bad, baby, and whether you admit
it or not, you still don’t entirely trust that I want you just the way you are.
So, I’m going have to prove it to you.”
    “How?”
He shrugged. “Time. Trust me, my feelings for you aren’t
going to change. And I want to be there when you finally come around to
acknowledging yours.”
Sara smiled tremulously, relieved that he knew her so well
and could anticipate her fears. Her heart lurched with joy even as she strove
to remain as calm and matter-of-fact as he did. “Thank you. You shouldn’t have
to settle for a commitment-phobic, plus-sized wallflower, but I do love you. So
much.” She punctuated the declaration with a lingering kiss to the underside of
his strong, square jaw, arching in pleasure as his hands coursed over her hips
and thighs hungrily in response.
“Don’t make me spank you again,” he growled into her ear.
She blushed, and Ethan grinned as he pressed her even closer to his side.
“You really don’t mind? Taking it slow, one day at a time,
with me?”
His countenance turned serious. “Baby, you can have all the
time you need to see that what we have is real and binding. I’m not going
anywhere. I love you. And I want to be with you, above all else.” He urged her
atop him and gently raised her enough so that the tip of his renewed cock
teased her tender, damp opening, sliding over her engorged clit before bringing
her back down on him until his entire length was pulsing once again deep inside
her snug, wet sheath.
Sara slipped her arms around his neck as her breath caught
in her throat, and his cock withdrew teasingly only to slide deep inside her
molten core again.
“Love you,” she gasped as her eyes fluttered shut. “You
couldn’t possibly know how much.” A broken cry was torn from her as his large
hands grasped her hips and delivered a series of short, hard, rapid thrusts
from beneath her. She threw her head back and struggled to catch her breath,
already feeling the wild, simmering tension build once again low in her belly.
“Thank you for finally taking a chance on me. You won’t be
sorry, baby.” Ethan’s voice was rough and hungry, his eyes absorbing her every
unschooled response to his
