Seducing Professor Coyle
any of that is the reason. Benjamin, I’m your teacher.”
“Only for three more weeks,” he said. He kept his chin to his chest, green eyes peering up shyly.
“Yes. And in three more weeks, I won’t be your teacher. I’ll be just another guy. A guy I suspect won’t be nearly as appealing to you.”
Ben frowned, then let out a soft chuckle. “What are you saying, that I’m attracted to you because of some power thing? That you’re more exciting because you’ve got authority over me?”
Peter raised his eyebrows. “Well, you’re obviously a smart kid. You can’t deny it’s a possibility.”
“I’m not a kid. I may be young, but I’m a grown man. I know when I want someone and why. I’m not suffering from some misguided case of puppy love because you’re my teacher.”
    “Benjamin, I—”
    “I hated you.”
This stopped Peter. He leaned back in his seat, nibbling on a ball point pen. “What do you mean?”
“When I met you here the other day to ask about my incomplete. I thought you were a pompous, self-important dick. Did I look at you? Sure. You’re hot. I noticed. But I wasn’t interested in pursuing you. I had no desire to woo you, because you were my teacher or for any other reason. It wasn’t until I saw you at Thorn’s party.” He shifted his eyes down. “In that pool.”
Heat flooded Peter’s groin. He silently cursed himself. The damn kid was convincing, but it didn’t matter. He couldn’t let him gain control of this discussion. Gain control of him .
Ben met his eyes. “I didn’t even recognize you at first, you had your back to me,” he said, his voice soft. “But I remember thinking, wow. That’s what I want. That’s what I’ve been looking for.”
Peter shifted in his seat, avoiding the green eyes that seemed to drill into his soul. “Benjamin, it doesn’t matter what your...motivations are. Nothing can happen between us. And I think you’ll find this will pass, and you’ll look back on it and laugh. Realize you don’t want some broken down old literature professor who has to sneak off and screw strangers on the outskirts of town.”
Ben took in a breath, and Peter immediately regretted his words. He shouldn’t have made reference to anything sexual.
Leaning forward, Ben rested tanned arms on the desk. “Peter. Dr. Coyle . If you don’t want me, say you don’t want me. But don’t tell me what I think and feel. You’re not old, and you sure as shit aren’t broken down. Yeah, I watched you at the party. I spied on you. It was wrong, but I did it anyway. Because I couldn’t help myself. You’re everything I want. And I can’t stop thinking about you.”
Peter dropped his hands on his lap to hide their trembling. And to stop him from reaching across the desk to grab the kid, as he so desperately wanted to. This was tormenting him, and it had to end now. “I think we’d better wrap this up.”
Ben nodded, but didn’t move. “You still haven’t said it.”
Peter sighed, shaking his head. “What is it you want me to say?”
“Look me in the eyes and say you don’t want me.”
Blood coursed through Peter and he could hear his own pulse in his ears. As his eyes locked onto Benjamin’s, his mouth went dry, erection turning rigid. Time seemed to slow. The words came out before he could stop them. “I can’t do that.”
Benjamin let out a breath, and he eased back in his chair.
“But it makes no difference if I do want you, Benjamin. My answer is still no.” He stood, and walked around the desk toward the door. “Now I really want you to leave.”
After another deep sigh, Ben stood and walked over to stand in front of Peter. “Are you sure you want me to leave?”
    Peter nodded.
“Because I can see the outline of your boner through your pants.”
Peter sucked his breath in, then raised his palms. “Don’t do that. Come on, Ben, please.”
Ben headed for the door, but instead of opening it, he turned, resting his back against it, his
