you. You’ll not be coming here and you won’t be having any women. Also, we’ve put you down for work at Western’s mechanic shop. He’s got a place for you.”
Staring at his boss, Jesse wondered if it was some kind of prank.
“We’re counting on you, Jesse.”
Great, there was nothing he could do or say. Picking up the picture, he stared at the woman he was about to get to fall in love with him. Crap, he’d never tried with a woman before. How was he going to make this work?

Piper Rix ordered her coffee and croissant before sitting in the corner booth near the window. She sat in the back to watch people pass her by in between reading the latest romance her father had bought her. It was kind of embarrassing when her father bought her romance books to pass the time. This was his way of getting her out of the clubhouse and into normal life. He never trusted anyone around her. At twenty-two years old she’d never been on a real date.
For prom she found out her father had organized her date. The whole night had been horrible knowing the man with her was only there for money and to win her father’s favor. John Rix meant well and she never said a word to him that she knew.
She was a virgin, as she didn’t trust men. Most of the men she did know were introduced by her father, and she knew they were only after something from him.
The waitress brought over her coffee and food. Piper smiled her thanks, opened up her book and started to read. Her time alone would go by easier if she read. At twelve, one of the boy’s would pick her up to take her back to the Hell’s Charter clubhouse.
Sipping her coffee, she added a little sugar to get it just right.
Turning the page, she ignored someone clearing their throat. No one ever approached her and she figured it wouldn’t change today.
“Excuse me?” Someone tapped her shoulder.
Looking up she stared into intense blue eyes that smiled down at her. His blond hair was tied behind the back of his neck. She saw the ink that swirled around his neck and clearly went down his arms.
When she realized the man was talking to her, she licked her lips and responded.
“Can I help you?” she asked, feeling her cheeks heat.
“Is this seat taken?”
Frowning, she stared around the coffee shop to see plenty of seats available. But she’d never been rude in her life and she wasn’t going to start now.
“Erm, I’ll be done soon and you can have this table.” Rubbing her temple, she opened her book to start reading again, hoping he’d leave.
He took a seat, pulling out a newspaper. She stared at him, completely shocked. His legs brushed her knees and she sat up straighter to stop contact.
“I didn’t offer you a seat.” Saying the words made her feel rude.
“I’m Jesse, and this is where I want to sit.” He offered her a hand, offering no apology. For several seconds she debated arguing with him then thought better of it. She hated causing scenes and the place was full with customers.
Shaking it, Piper smiled. “Piper.”
“I heard this was an awesome coffee shop. I can’t drink coffee without company and you looked in need of some.” He leaned forward on his elbows. His smile made her heart flutter as all of his attention was directed at her.
“I, er, I never have company.”
“It’s so cold outside and everyone else looks busy. What book are you reading?” he asked.
This had to be the single weirdest experience of her life. She lifted the book up for him to see, Jesse read the title and nodded.
“Cool. So, do you come here often?”
She’d barely spoken and Piper was starting to get suspicious. “Do you know John Rix?”
Jesse leaned back, his gaze on hers. His brows furrowed close as he stared at her chest. Glancing down, she saw her shirt gapped open, showing a lot of cleavage. She tugged the shirt together before looking back at him.
“That’s a shame. I really enjoyed the view.”
Her cheeks must be hotter than the sun. Crap,
