tell her. “They were a mess.”
“But you didn’t really see a forever with Shelly or Summer. You said yourself that you knew Shel would end up with Matt, and that Dean is Summer’s perfect match. If you truly believed in your love with either one of them, you would’ve never done what you did. You would have never allowed yourself to hurt them.”
“But I did. And your ex had to have hurt you too even if you say he didn’t.”
“He did hurt me. And it would’ve been great if we would have just had a conversation like this and been honest with each other. Then he would’ve never had to cheat. Just like it would have been better for you to break up with them before starting something with someone else. Or just break up because you weren’t ready to give yourself to them completely. There are all sorts of things that you might wish you could’ve done or things you wish you could take back, but it’s too late. You have to move on and hope that you’ve learned something from your past.”
“What if I haven’t learned?” I ask. It’s easy to say that I won’t do it again, but I never thought I would cheat again, even if it were just one meaningless kiss with someone else.
“You have.” Just like that. She seems so sure.
    “How do you know?”
“I just do, Chase. You said you don’t ever want to hurt me.” She sits up on her knees, coming closer to me. “And I believe you.” She lifts her hands to cup my face in her palms. “You’re not going to hurt me,” she murmurs against my lips. “Not now.” A sweet kiss grazes my lips. “Not ever.” Another soft peck. She pulls back and holds my face in front of hers, staring deep into my eyes. “You’re not your dad, Chase. I trust you.”
No words have ever sounded so good. I wrap my hand around Tiffany’s waist and pull her underneath me in one swift movement. “I’ll never do anything to lose that trust, Tiff. Your words, your trust…they mean so much to me. More than you’ll ever know.”
Somehow this woman understands me. She listens to me and gets me. And she trusts me. Something I never thought I’d ever get from another woman in my life.
And I won’t betray that trust.
    Ever.

CHAPTER TWELVE - Chase

Tiffany’s gorgeous body is underneath mine. My heart pounds against my chest and I’m breathless.
“I haven’t even kissed you or touched you yet, and I’m so nervous. I want to savor this moment forever.”
She smiles up at me, tears filling her eyes. “Well don’t make me wait forever. This is only the first time of many, Chase Marino. I’m yours for as long as you want me.”
    “Which will be forever.”
Tiffany inhales a deep breath and exhales as I lower my lips to hers. It’s even better than the first time. Her soft lips meld to mine as I press gentle chaste kisses to her mouth. Our lips intertwine savoring ever y moment we’re together. My hand slides down the length of her body and hooks under her knee as the material of her sexy black dress cascades down her thigh. Her hands trail down my back pulling me closer to her. Our bodies rock together in rhythm with our slow kisses.
“Mr. Marino,” she says, grabbing my ass.
    “Hmm?”
    “I want you naked.”
My senses go on heightened alert at those four short words. My intent was to go slow, but Tiffany has other plans.
I lean back on my calves, untuck my shirt and peel it off. “Better?” I ask.
She reaches for my belt. “Getting there.”
Tiffany studies me as I get off the bed. I make quick work of my buckle and my pants drop to the floor. Then, I pull off my socks and finally drop my black boxer briefs.
“Perfection,” she says, holding out her hands. “I always had a feeling you worked out, but I would have never guessed you’d be chiseled and flawless under your button-up shirts and khaki pants.”
I laugh as I kneel down on her bed again. She reaches down to the hem of her dress. “No, let me.”
    She starts tossing
