the wet folds of my cunt.

She sat up, eyes on me. “Ask now, or never.” She pushed a thumb inside me, pressing down on that spot.

“Do you think –,” I cried out when she pressed harder, a climax I never knew was coming knocking at my door. I held it back, barely.

I needed to know. “Do you think you’re falling in love with me, Lia?”

She did something and in the frenzy I came, seeing her mouth move in answer, overshadowed by my screams of pleasure.

    But I knew.

    And it scared me.

    ~

Lia was resting her head on my thigh, breathing in controlled shallow breaths. I said nothing else, trailing my fingers in her hair.

A gentle knock on the door. “Lia,” Azina murmured from the other side.

Lia rose from the carpet, straightening her clothes as I tucked my legs in.

She paused by the door, not quite looking at me. “Will you come,” she asked.

    Always. “Yes,” I whispered.

She nodded, gaze inward. “Thank you.”

The clothes she laid out for me was tastefully expensive, a light blue dress and matching shoes that fit me perfectly. Red panties.

I was shaking as I pulled them on, looked at my reflection in the mirror. Who are you Meghan? You weren’t the person you were at the beginning of the week. Shit, you aren’t the person you were yesterday. How far will you let Lia take you?

Do you even have a line to draw, anymore?

When I emerged from the restroom Lia had somehow already showered and changed, putting on her earrings using the mirror set outside the bathroom.

“Meghan,” she smiled, “you look great.”

I glanced up and down at her obviously tailored navy blue dress, the way it hugged every curve with enthusiasm. “Likewise.”

“We ready?” Azina came from around the corner, still in a pair of beat up overalls, but now sporting a dingy white baseball cap tucked low over her eyes.

It did nothing to disrupt her beauty. It just made me stare at her longer, hoping to catch another tantalizing glimpse of a shadowed feature. I glanced at Lia and she just smiled and shook her head.

She seemed happy, though. “Are you coming too, dear? I know you hate these things.”

Azina shrugged, hands in her pockets.

I realized I never quite found out what this “thing” was. But they didn’t seem too concerned. As long as I was not on a damn panel I was going to keep ignoring that progressively loud inner voice telling me that I needed to get my shit together.

Lia’s white car was gone. In it’s place was a sleek black Cadillac SUV.

“The dealership gave me a loaner while the Maserati is being cleaned.”

Well, that was quick. And they picked it up, too? “Nice service plan.”

    “Hmm,” she said, grinning.

Azina opened the rear door, glancing back with an eye roll. “You’re not great with the whole FBI thing, eh?”

Lia laughed as I slumped into the plush passenger seat. “Be nice, Zi.”

Azina sighed, spreading out in the backseat. She was right, though. My first undercover assignment and I was well past screwing it up.

Why was I jeopardizing my career for sex? Admittedly mind blowing risk-getting-swept-away-to-sea-sex, but still, sex.

I stared out the window most of the way, trying not to wrinkle my borrowed dress, trying not to think too hard about the shit-storm my life had become.

Lia was quiet as well, driving with hands carefully on the wheel. It was a departure from the pure joy she took in driving her other car.

    “Penny for your thoughts."

She glanced at me sidelong, a smile on her lips. “Just preparing for my speech.”

“Oh.” My heart skipped. “It’s not another financial panel, is it?”

Her laugh made my heart skip another beat, happily. She had a great laugh.

“No, it’s not a panel.” Her smile turned mischievous. “That was quite awful of me, wasn’t it?”

“To put me on the spot like that!” And then I flushed when I remembered the other, more literal spotlight she had
