famished as she reached for a lobster tails and devoured it as if she had not eaten in days. I looked at her rather inquisitively, as I handed her another lobster tail and ask her if she always had such a healthy appetite. Strawberry hesitated long enough to apologize for her lack of manners and went on to say that she had smoked some weed while she was waiting for me to finish cooking dinner and she was famished. Well at that point, I have to admit that I was a little upset with her, not because she was smoking pot but mainly that she had pot in her belongings and didn’t tell me about it. If a cop had stopped us for any reason, I could be on my way to jail and not even knowing why. I just wish she had told me and not had caught me off guard like that. Well there is no point in getting upset with her, after all we were already on Grassy Key and it isn’t likely that the sheriff department patrols this part of the island so rather than get mad at her again, I guess I will just drop a hint tomorrow that I don’t like having weed in my car. As we finished dinner, I gathered up the lobster shells so I could bury them in the sand. As I dug a deep hole and placed the shells in the sand, she looked at me baffled.
“Chris, why are you burying the lobster shells?” I was amused at the fact of how little she knew about camping.
“Didn’t your Grandpa ever take you camping when you were little Strawberry?”
“No, he never did any of that kind of stuff with us Chris. But he did teach me how to build a fire, as you seen already. I’m not bad at shooting a revolver either”
“Well I am sure that you don’t want to wake up with a bunch of critters crawling all over you in the middle of the night. Do you?”
“No smartass, I don’t want to wake up with anything crawling all over me, except maybe you Chris.” She acknowledged with a satisfied smirk on her face.
“That’s very cute Strawberry and I will take that into consideration later on when you are sleeping. But, to get back to the question at hand, if I didn’t bury the lobster shells, the local critters would be all over our campsite tonight looking for food.”
“The lobster was very good Chris, I have never had it roasted on an open fire like that before. Thank you for dinner.”
“I’m very glad you liked it Strawberry.” She laid back and looked at the sky. As I turned toward the ocean, I could see the fading sunlight began to settle over the blue water, it glowed with a bright orange light as if, the sky was burning with fire meeting the cool blue ocean on the horizon. I look back at Strawberry and seen a warm smile cross her face as she watch the sun settle and disappear into the deep dark ocean. As the day turned into night and darkness fell over the Island of Grassy Key. I could see the moon began to peek out of the clouds in the distance. Strawberry gasped with delight.
“Oh look Chris, a full moon it seems so majestic and over powering as if it passes through your very soul.”
“Yes’ the view is very beautiful and mystical.” I could not agree with her more as I admired her beauty in the moonlight.

    Chapter 5

The moon lit up the sky and gently danced across the blue water as the waves disappeared onto the sand. We lay there on the blankets by the fire for what seemed to be hours just talking and sometimes laughing about silly little things that she brought up during our conversation. I felt like I had known this young woman for years, but of course that was impossible because I knew that I was at least six years older than she was and we had just met today. Wait a minute, that means that she couldn’t have been in high school when I was playing varsity football, damn; I fell for another one of her lies. Why
