fucking marriage because of you.”
“Oh please, he wasn’t happy for a long time. I just helped him out.”
“Stop. No more.”
“Look, I shouldn’t have slept with Trent or your dad. I’m sorry. You need to let it go, move on from it. Let us move on.”
Just then the doctor looks at Rowan and I, standing outside the room listening to their argument.
“We’re just waiting out here,” Rowan says to the doctor. He nods and then heads into the room.
“We’ll hello again Tucker, good to see you. Hi Bianca.”
“Hey Doc. Just the blood today?” Tucker asks.
“Yes, I have your scans set up for next Tuesday, if that doesn’t work let me know,” the doctor tells him.
“Next Tuesday’s fine.”
“We’ll be here,” Bianca pipes up.
“Good.”
The doctor continues to take blood from Bianca and some from Tucker, at least from what we can see and then says goodbye, leaving the room.
“I think we should go before they come out,” I tell Rowan quickly.
“Sure, let’s go.”
We briskly walk back to the stairs and take them down as fast as we can , hoping to get out of the hospital before they do.
Thankfully, luck is on our side. We leave the hospital and hop into my car and I race out of there as fast as possible.
“What do you think is wrong with him?” she asks.
“I have no clue, but he’s getting scans next week.”
“Scans on what, though?”
“I don’t know. How or even what do we tell Harper?”
“I think we should keep it quiet for now. Let’s see what else we can find out first.”
“You think that’s best?” I ask confused.
“Yes, no need to worry Harp if it’s not really a big deal. Right?”
“I guess so. I’ll make sure to take off next Tuesday and we can come back. Hopefully we can find out more.”
“Sounds good. I’ll make sure I’m off too.”
The rest of the drive back is f illed with random conversations. Rowan’s really cool, I wouldn’t mind hanging out with her more often.
I send Harp a text letting her know we didn’t find anything out, but that we will keep watching him through the next few weeks.

Thankfully, Thursday is here. I work tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday which will keep me busy, but we have bands both nights, so hopefully the tips are good.
I walk into work at 7:30 p.m. ready to get my mind off of everything. I don’t want to think about school, or Parker, or anything. I just want to focus on serving customers and making money.
“Hey,” Harp says , making me snap my head up. She’s not usually here this early.
“Hey, you scared me,” I tell her truthfully.
“So, I feel the need to tell you that Tuck’s been talking to Parker,” she says looking worried.
“Okay, good for them,” I say like it’s no big deal.
“No Nat, he talks to Parker about you,” she says making me angry.
“Why? There’s nothing for him to say,” I retort.
“That’s what I told him, but Parker cares about you,” she says softly.
“No, if he cared about me, he wouldn’t have cheated. Tell Tuck not to mention me again, better yet, I will when I see him,” I say annoyed.
“You can’t. Then Tuck will know I said something to you about it,” she says with pleading eyes.
“Ugh, fine. But it needs to stop. I’m no longer a worry for Parker.”
“I know , but you can’t turn your feelings off over night. You know that,” she points out.
“You’re right, but it doesn’t mean I need to act on them either. Look, I’m doing the best I can right now. They need to let it alone,” I tell her in a serious tone.
“I know, I snapped at Tuck about it. Hopefully he won’t tell him anything more,” she says.
“Let’s hope.”
“Or you could always give him a reason to call and piss Parker off,” Harp says shocking me.
“Like what?” I ask.
“Start talking to someone. That way he can see you’re moving on,” she says with a serious look.
