Elizabeth snatched it back. "Are you sure you want to go ahead with this? You've been out of the field for a long time. Maybe you're not up to it, if you know what I mean." She glanced down at his lap meaningfully.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean? Of course I'm up to it. I'm not the walking hard-on I was when I started this place eight years ago, but I'm hardly in the market for, what did you call it? Erectile enhancement?" He glared at her and grabbed for the remote again.
Nick turned the wall-mounted monitor back on. A screen still appeared of Kayla and Elizabeth sitting across the desk from each other. He pressed the rewind button and watched as Kayla gracefully rose from her seated position and her ivory silk blouse gaped to reveal a hint of lace camisole. His softening cock immediately came to attention within the trousers of his Armani suit and he angled his lap away from Elizabeth so she wouldn't notice exactly how "up" to the task he was.
"I wasn't insulting your manly virility or whatever. I'm just wondering if you really are capable of maintaining the fantasy. Not only are you going to have to choke the chicken with someone watching, you're also going to have to do it in cowboy gear and in a public place. You haven't done this in years. And if you blow it, I'm going to have to issue a refund to that woman. And I swore that would never happen again." Elizabeth tapped the table for emphasis with one french-manicured fingernail.
"Choke the chicken? Seriously? Are you twelve? What happened to the oh-so-proper ice queen I just witnessed interviewing Kayla?"
"You know I have to put that on so the client will feel more comfortable. If I keep it impersonal, they feel less judged. And our success depends upon them feeling secure enough to reveal what they really want. You taught me that."
"Yes, but you've become eerily convincing as the robotic hostess. You remind me of the female cyborg in that Terminator movie."
"The Terminatrix? Gee. Thanks. I remind you of a half robot assassin sent from the future to destroy mankind." She rolled her eyes and raked one hand through her unruly blonde hair.
He chuckled. "Okay, maybe not that scary. But you have become a truly excellent actress. No one would believe how warm and human you are when you don't have your temperature dial turned down to frigid."
"Thanks. I think." She shrugged. "It's really fun. Not as fun as acting out the fantasies, I'm sure. But I do enjoy my little contribution to setting the scene. But seriously. This all seems like an awfully contrived way of staging a meeting with this woman. Couldn't you just bump into her at a bar and ask her for her number, like any other hot guy. I mean, look at you." She waved her hand at his body. "She'd be crazy to give you the boot if you put your moves on her."
"Thanks, but my moves are pretty rusty. Building an empire doesn't leave a lot of time for practice. Besides this woman is different. You didn't see her at this conference. At least five guys. We're talking Fortune 500 totally eligible bachelors. They all tried to get her attention and she shot them down like they were hobos or something. It was incredible. I've never seen a woman like this before."
"Let me get this straight. You staged all this." She touched the red folder. "Because you liked the way she rejected a bunch of other guys. You, my friend, are messed up."
"That's just part of it. There's something special about her. I've seen her at several other conferences over the years, and she's always so poised and knowledgeable. And the consensus among her coworkers is that she's tough as nails, but also uncompromisingly ethical and hard working."
Elizabeth snorted. "Right. It's her ethics that are getting you all horned up. Not the fact that she's incredibly beautiful. And has the longest legs I've ever seen in my life."
He grinned wickedly. "Yeah. That certainly doesn't hurt."
"So, what do you imagine happening after you fulfill her
