A gentle, sweet kiss. “ I went to prison for Layne, ” he said. “ I was locked up for him. ” “ How? Why? ” Talon swallowed hard and squeezed my hands tighter. “ Judge as you want, Everly. But know that you ’ re mine now. I ’ m not letting you go. ” Talon waited a second and then hit me with a confession that changed my life again. “ I killed Layne ’ s girlfriend …”
