my fingers just passed. I scoop her up into my arms, and she laces her hands around my neck.
I slowly make my way back to the house. Terrance meets me halfway with a blanket to wrap around Sabrina.
    “Thank you, Terrance.”
He nods. “I have James in the den waiting for you. Bruce, the new hire that will be helping with security around the office, is waiting with him.”
We turn to continue walking to the house in silence. Reaching the French doors, Terrance opens them for me. I step into the house and head for the stairs.
“I’ll be back down in a few minutes. Let me get her settled. Please, let James know.”
    “Yes, sir.”
Terrance takes off in the opposite direction, and I start the climb to our room.
Once in our room, I lay her on the bed. I place a chaste kiss on her lips before I step away to grab a towel to dry her hair.
Returning to her, I see Sabrina has discarded my shirt and her ivory skin has a beautiful gleam to it. Sitting beside her, I slowly start to towel dry her hair by separating sections and blotting them lightly.
I lift her into my chest and start rubbing her shoulders before sliding my hands down the front of her body to knead her breasts. Her head falls back on my shoulder, but her eyes stay shut. I lean forward and kiss her. Her lips part, letting our tongues dance over each other. I pull away, guiding her down to the pillow again and bring the covers up over her sexy body before tucking her in.
“Stay.” The word is breathless, barely a whisper.
Tucking her locks behind her ear, I lean down to kiss her cheek. “I’ll be back before you know it.”
“Mmm hum…” she mumbles incoherently, “Caston?”
“Yes, baby. What do you need?” I whisper.
“I want to set a date.”
Smiling, I kiss her forehead. “In the morning. Sleep now.”
I’ve been asking her to set a date for a while now, but she was reluctant because of how she walks. Today must have been good for her to feel comfortable enough to set a date. I’m elated that she’s finally ready, but it’s late, and she can barely stay awake. She shifts and slides further down into the sheets.
Pushing my hands through my hair, I walk into my closet to grab dry clothes before heading back down to James. Collecting my thoughts, I finally head toward the den.
Terrance and Bruce stand by the door until I walk in.
“I’ll only be a minute, then you can show Mr. Holden out of my house.”
Terrance steps away, nodding his understanding.
James sits up straighter when I walk toward him. I have so many thoughts going through my head. I’m not even sure where to start, or if I even want too.
“Son.” He holds his arms out to me, trying to apologize.
“Don’t.” Stopping him. “Listen to me, and listen good; I want you to leave. I need time to think about what you’ve told me. What happens from here I can’t say.” I stop, not knowing what I really want to say.
“I’m so sorry, Caston. It was for hers and your safety. Please, try to understand that your mother isn’t mentally stable.”
My head snaps up. “That excuses her, but what about you? You’re sane. Was it worth sacrificing your son to have your lover?” I stop, taking a deep breath to try to calm my nerves.
“Caston, it wasn’t like that. I saw what Beverly wanted me to see. I never thought she could do the things she did to you. Why do you think she always waited until I was gone? Once you came to live with us and Rose was gone, it was like Beverly’s need for vengeance ceased. I thought she was better. I thought she loved you, like she loved Jon.” On the verge of sobbing, he takes several deep breaths before whispering. “I just never knew how far she would go.”
“I can’t get into this anymore right now. I don’t know what to think of what you’ve told me.” Turning, I walk out of the room, knowing Terrance will make sure James makes it home.

I wake up to the sun shining on my face. The warm body snuggled up to my back
