moment. Peering into the mirror , she closely studied the collar that Sir James had placed around her neck. It was about an inch and one half wide and was made of soft leather. It was black and fitted with a chrome buckle and a chrome D-ring which was what he had used to bring her to the bathroom. He had removed the wrist cuffs but not the ankle cuffs or the collar. She wondered if there was a reason for that, but she decided it was not her place to remove them.
As she fingered the collar, she felt a warm flush and a feeling of security, maybe even… love. She had nearly said it to him in the throes of passion a little earlier but had just managed to stop herself. She liked both the look and the feel of the collar on her and at some level, that disturbed her, but she knew she needed time to assess. She knew she had to carefully consider their relationship, such that it was, in the cold hard light of day and that she would need to talk further with her trusted friend, Jo-Anne.
When she finished cleaning herself up, she donned the silk dressing gown that was hanging on the back of the door. It was a deep, nearly electric blue and came half way down her thighs, and as she moved, she felt it caressing her skin. After checking her appearance one final time, she made her way to the living room. At the table she could see Sir James had also dressed in a burgundy gown made of what looked like fine cotton. There was a pillow on the floor beside his chair and two glasses of wine on the table in front of him. Before Natalie had time to process the fact that no other chairs had been prepared for her, he beckoned her over, waving his hand casually towards the pillow and said simply, “Come and kneel beside me, Natalie. I want you to be close to me.”
Her automatic reaction was to think, ‘Well , why doesn’t he simply pull up a chair beside himself for me?’ She felt her annoyance building but immediately suppressed her feelings as she was reminded of the restrictions of the ankle cuffs and the comfortable and secure feeling they were transmitting to her brain.
She complied with his instruction , and he slipped a finger through the ring on her collar and with his wrist pressing up under her chin, lifted her head so she was forced to look him in the eye. “Don’t pout, Natalie. You know how I like it when you acquiesce to my sometimes quirky demands. Thank you my darling. I appreciate it.”
The last few words simply melted her heart. Thank you my darling. I appreciate it. Without waiting for a reply, he released the ring and put his arm around her shoulders, pulling her gently against his thigh. Automatically she snuggled into him, reveling in the feeling of closeness and intimacy. She realized they would have struggled to achieve this if she was on a chair beside him and so somehow it felt right. He was taking charge of the situation and organizing things in such a way that always left her feeling cared for and safe. Lots of women sit at the feet of their lovers, she thought to herself as she rationalized the situation.
He passed a glass of wine which she took gratefully. “I would like to propose a toast, Natalie. To acquiescence and to us. May our relationship continue to flourish.” She raised her glass and they clinked together.
    “To us, Sir.”
After taking a sip of the cold, crisp Chablis, she knelt there just savoring the moment. It was Sir James who eventually broke the silence.
“Natalie, you may now open the gift I showed you earlier and another special one. ” He passed the first one down to her and she began to remove the bow and carefully remove the wrapping paper. When she lifted the lid, she saw a beautiful skin colored lingerie set comprising satin panties and bra, both with lace trim. He has lovely taste, she thought to herself.
“Oooohhhh. Thank you , Sir. They are beautiful,” she said as she held them up to study them properly.
“My pleasure, and once again, Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope
