She nodded. “I know we decided we’d explore our feelings for each other. But everything seems to be happening so fast and too soon.”

I thought we had a pretty good thing going.” He actually sounded hurt, and it hadn’t been her intention to do that to him, but Jack was the one who’d forced her to tell him what she was thinking.
