moaned loudly and pushed my breasts against his chest when
his hands roamed the length of my back, carefully avoiding other vital areas as
they explored.
This is almost too much! My brain yelled in an
attempt to be heard over the uncontrolled wildfire spreading inside my system.
Well, I had been very curious to know what a kiss from
Brandon felt like. Now that I knew what that was like, I wanted more. If it was
up to me I would have continued our kissing game forever. But, unfortunately for
us, someone chose that moment to knock on Brandon’s front door.
Startled, we tore our lips apart and stared at each other.
“Are you expecting someone?” I asked, already disappointed
that we had been interrupted.
“No.” His breathing was as harsh as mine was.
Another knock came, this one louder and much more insistent.
“Brandon? Are you here, man? Open up!” a male voice shouted
from the other side of the closed door. “This is important, I swear.”
“A friend of yours?” I whispered in his left ear.
“Unfortunately,” Brandon muttered softly. “Go away!”
His barked order caused me to giggle.
“Come on, man. I need a favor,” the inconvenient person said.
“I don’t think he plans to leave anytime soon.” Much to my
disappointment, we had to break away.
By the looks of him, Brandon was not too happy about the interruption
either.
“I’m so sorry,” he said, caressing my cheek with the tips of
his fingers.
“Don’t be.” I tried hard to collect myself and pretend as if
I was not entirely bummed out that someone had interrupted us, and because my
voice sounded so steady, I knew I had succeeded to some extent. “It’s fine.”
Brandon pulled me in for another heart-stopping kiss before
allowing me to pick my body off of his. He rose and cursed softly, forcing a
smile out of me. With a slight limp in his gait, he slowly sauntered toward the
door and unlocked it.
“This better be important!” he growled as he yanked the door
open.
“Of course it is, I—” The man behind the door stopped his
banter as soon as he marched through the entryway and saw me standing next to
the coffee table. “Oh, man,” he muttered as he stared at me. “Hello.”
The second he broke out in a smile I wanted to burst out
laughing. He had such a comical face. Not in the sense that he was unpleasant
to look at, but he had a way of contorting his features that made him look like
an eight-year-old.
Brandon’s friend was about an inch or two smaller than him,
had dark brown eyes, and short brown hair with streaks of blue and red locks
distributed evenly throughout his head. He was lean, and carried a mischievous air
about him that could easily erase several years of his actual age. Dark
clothing, a tight collar, and skull earrings completed his look.
“Hi,” I greeted him as he came in.
“I didn’t know you had company, Brandon.” The young man
walked around the couch in my direction. When he was within arm’s reach, he
stopped to assess me.
“Ever heard of a phone?” Brandon mumbled as he shut the
door. “If you would’ve called, you would have known I was busy.”
“Well, you never have company over. How was I supposed to
know that I was going to find a beautiful young lady in here?” He grinned and I
smiled. “No wonder you wanted me to go away.”
My cheeks burned as I caught sight of the man’s knowing
look. A quick glance at Brandon and I know he was equally as uncomfortable as I
was.
“My name’s Duke, by the way.” He extended his hand to me.
I shook it briefly before releasing it. “Hi, I’m Leah.” The
second I said my name, Duke immediately scrutinized Brandon’s face, as if
waiting for him to verify something.
Brandon just averted his gaze and said nothing.
    “Nice to meet you, Leah.”
“It’s been fun, I’m sure.” Duke said.
    Duke laughed.
“Spit it out, man,” Brandon ordered as he hurried to face
the unexpected nuisance.
“Oh, yeah, um, I need a ride to
