when.

When her teeth began to chatter, he pulled away, looking at her with concern. “Angel, are you all right, Honey?”

    Meg blushed becomingly. “I – I think it’s more reaction –
to your proposal, to –“ she looked around them. “ – being naked in bed with a man who makes two of me easily.”

“Ahhh.” He was soooo dense, he almost hit himself in the head. “Understandable.” Barrett gave her some room so as not to crowd her, crooking his elbow to lean his head on his palm.
    “Better?”

She giggled nervously. “I don’t know. This is going to take some getting used to.”

His big rough finger traced down her arm and over one tight tipped breast, and he heard her sharp intake of breath. “Are you feeling a little better about the engagement?”

Could he possibly expect a coherent response when he continued to worry her nipple teasingly? “Y-Yes.”

His mouth captured the little nub to lave it thoroughly.
“You’re not going to be gone in the morning, are you, Baby?”

“Ahh!” At the touch of his lips, Meg arched her back and tried to push him away, but he caught both of her hands and kept them easily in one of his, then transferred his delicate attentions to the other nipple, making her react the same way again.

“Does ‘ahhh’ mean ‘no, Barrett, I won’t be gone in the morning?’” he asked in an overly patient tone.

“N-no, I w-won’t leave,” she was finding it progressively harder to breath as he let his hands wander over her in a very soft, gentle exploration of her tummy and thighs, skimming deliberately over more intimate areas.

“Tell me you won’t leave me ever, Sweetheart. I need to hear it,” he breathed against her breast.

“I won’t ever leave you, Barrett,” Meg returned, not able to think a second before responding.

His white teeth razed the very tip of her nipple. “Not even when I spank you?”

Meg did noticed that he’d used “when” not “if”. “Yes.”

“Or when we fight, which we will.”

“Or – “ her breath became more ragged as he sucked one nub while gently pinching and rolling the other between his thumb and forefinger. “ – when – we - fight.”

His mouth wandered slowly, wetly up to hers. “Thank you.
I needed to hear that from your own –“ he kissed her “- sweet –“
*kiss* “- lips.” As their lips met, his hands carefully moved down her stomach to delve gently between her legs. At first, she started and would have prevented him from touching her so intimately.
But Barrett persisted, occupying her lips and tongue with his, giving her time to become more familiar with his touch as his fingers tenderly parted the soft folds of her moist flesh.

Meg reached between them to grab his wrist, but her fingers wouldn’t fit around his forearm, and her insistent tugging had no effect on his slow advancement toward the true center of her pleasure. “Shhhh,” he soothed against her lips. “Relax.” He could feel the tenseness of her thighs and belly, as if she expected him to hurt her. That was the furthest thing from his mind. Barrett stopped moving his hand and merely cupped her, speaking in a calm tone, as if she were a skittish filly. “I love the feel of you in my hand.” Her eyes met his, and she looked like she would bolt, which he was not about to allow. He simply kept talking to her.
“You fit perfectly into it, as I will fit perfectly into you. I will love you every night of our lives, with my mind and my body.” Slowly, her thighs parted without any thought on her part, and his thick middle finger stroked her most intimate spot, finding slick wetness to ease his way as he rubbed firmly over and over that tiny nub.
