once again. I could tell he was heated from the puffing and aggravation noises he sent through the phone. There was nothing I could do for Mata. Yeah, he put Montana and me on back in the day but it was a new day and with that came new product.
Mata was beating us out charging us too much for the product and every year he would go up a percentage. There was no way we were going to reach the status we deserved after putting in all the work we did. He knew what he was doing. His goal was to keep us stagnant and complacent so we wouldn't go anywhere else. So for that he would have to suffer through his pockets the same we did.
“When you get right, Quince, you fucking call me. You got that? You fucking call me mane.”
“I got you.” I hung up without waiting for his response.
Unscathed by the contents of the phone call I headed back into the restaurant. She sat there wiggling a little in her seat in excitement at the wonderful looking dessert in her glass. She spooned a little bit of it from her glass holding it out for me to get a taste as I straightened my suit jacket taking a seat and welcoming her feeding.
“You okay?” she asked looking concerned.
“Yeah. I’m excellent,” I responded. “Oh now that shit is bangin’.”
“Yeah, I know right. It’s a cherry cheesecake shooter. It literally melts in your mouth.”
“I can think of something better that would melt in my mouth,” I nodded giving the hint back to our hot and heavy dance session.
“Quince, I’ve gotta tell you something.” Her eyes turned down inside of her glass turning her mood solemn.
“Ah shit. Don’t tell me nothing crazy like you’re a lesbian or some shit.” I stopped to think. “Actually that wouldn’t really be so bad, hell, not as long as I can join.”
    “Are you serious?”
“Huh? Naw, naw. But um, what’s up though?” I asked slipping some cheesecake in my mouth.
“I’ve never actually been with…with a man before.” Her eyes darted up to mine instantly.
“Oh okay, so you do like girls then?” I asked feeling confused.
“Ugh, what’s with you and the whole lesbian thing? You’re such a damn freak.” Daisy shook her head but cracked a smile alerting me that she wasn’t as mad as I initially thought. “No Quince. I’m mean, I’ve never been with anyone. Ever. At all. In bed.”
“Oh. OH!” I felt slow as hell that it took me a while to get that thought registered in my head. "Damn, for real? How old are you again?”
“I’ll be 23 on New Year’s Day. Why? Is it such a crime that a grown woman has never been with a man before? Why do I have to be ostracized by the community just because I choose to save myself for the right person?” Her eyebrows curled over in frustration.
“Naw shorty. There ain’t nothing wrong with that shit at all. In fact it don’t do shit but makes me want you more. You’re pure, uncut. I like that shit,” I affirmed with the straightest face possible to let her know that I was serious. That meant I could mold her to me and me only. “You should actually be proud of that. Not many women in this world can say that at your age.”
“I am.” Daisy fiddled with her dessert uninterested in eating it anymore.
“So what do you say we get out of here?” I asked livening up the mood again.
“What did you have in mind?”
“Spend the night with me, Daisy.”
“Spend the night with you? Damn you sure work fast don’t you? No beating around the bush for you is there?” She shook her head in disbelief.
“Spend it with me under the stars,” I sniggered. “Just come on. You’ll see.”
We hit the expressway for a short ride down Lake Shore Drive. Every so often I looked over at her facial expression noticing the worried look on her face. I couldn’t do shit but laugh at her. She was really concerned with my intentions with her. Hell, if given the chance I would definitely put the works on her and make her forget all about her morals and anxieties. But I
