broadly.
    “Bigger
everything.” Zane glanced down at the noticeable bulge in his pants. He bobbed
his eyebrows at Tanya and grinned, a feral gleam in his dark eyes.
    Tanya
laughed. “I don’t know…I need to be able to trust you.”
    Brant’s
expression changed. “I do still need to come clean about one last thing.”
    The
air seized in her lungs.
    He
ran a hand through his hair and glanced at Zane for a few beats before locking
his eyes with hers. “You were Zane’s first choice at the choosing ceremony. He
decided to choose another because he could sense that I was going to choose you
as well.”
    “You
chose me? Really?”
    “Don’t
sound so surprised.” Zane’s eyes darkened up a whole lot more.
    Tanya
fiddled with the fabric on her t-shirt. “It’s just…there were some really
gorgeous girls there and well…”
    “No
comparison, Tanya.” The way he said her name sent shivers rushing up and down
her spine. “None of them came even close to you. Let’s get something straight,
I chose you but I didn’t want to cause a war between the covens.”
    “Zane
did the honorable thing. I would’ve fought for you even if it meant war and
untold bloodshed. The same thing happened to our fathers. It was the reason for
the original Great War between the species. Our fathers chose the same female,”
Brant paused. “My mother. They fought for her and my father won. If the same
thing had happened again, we would’ve been easy pickings for the other species.
Thankfully one of us had the best interest of our people in mind. I never did
thank you, and it’s long overdue. You did the right thing more than once while
I acted like a jerk.” Brant looked at Zane, he hooked his thumbs into his jeans
pockets.
    Zane
cleared his throat, running his hand through his hair. “Yeah…no problem. A
female like Tanya will do strange things to a male’s mind.”
    Her
heart melted big time.
    “Things
have changed since that fateful day. We had to work together to try and win you
back. We’re…almost friends.” Zane’s eyes twinkled and his lips twitched.
    “Almost…what
the…I spent hours at that damned computer. Hours of strategizing to find the
best solution for us to get our female back. I let you drink from my vein, damn
you.” Brant’s face was comical.
    Zane
snorted. “Back to my earlier remark…I refuse to start stroking your dick.”
    “Fuck
you.” Brant turned to Zane, chest first, his fists clenched at his sides. “I
don’t need you, my female will stroke my”—then he broke out in a grin—“you’re
such a God damned bastard.”
    Zane
smiled back. “Takes one to know one.”
    “You
said it.”
    They
were bantering with one another like…best buddies. She felt her mouth drop
open.
    “Now
about that bet,” Brant said.
    “And
about that spanking.” They turned to face her.
    “No
one is spanking me. Also”—she swallowed hard, feeling so incredibly hot and
bothered. Her jeans felt tight, her bra felt even tighter—“um…we need to
establish some house rules. Firstly, we all have to sleep together.”
    “We
bought the bed didn’t we?” Brant pulled his shirt over his head and her mouth
dried as she caught sight of his ribbed abs. She also noticed a tattoo on his
chest that had not been there before. Large cursive letters.
    “Oh
my word, what is that?” She had to bite her lip to stop from crying. The word
‘Cenwein’ stared back at her in dark, ink, letters.
    Brant
threw her a grin that had his dimples out in full force. “This is a token to
show you and all others that I am taken. I belong to you, Cenwein. Now and
forever.”
    “It
hurt like a bitch.” Zane growled as he removed his shirt. “The needle had to be
silver so that the wounds would stay long enough to cause the ink to be
permanent.” He pulled his muscles and his pecks bounced. The word ‘Ysnaar’ was
in the same cursive ink. “It was all worth it though Ysnaar.” His eyes darkened
as they tracked the length
